A few years ago, Gas South was small, local company providing natural gas to a few hundred thousand customers in four southern states in the USA. They began growing by leaps and bounds, ranking as one of the “Top Workplaces in Atlanta,” and moving from their physical infrastructure to Microsoft Azure.

With support from Check Point offerings, Gas South was able to migrate most of their physical servers to Azure over a weekend—and users didn’t even notice the difference. When COVID hit, Check Point’s CloudGuard platform was vital to maintaining their uptime as all their employees went from an office environment to working from home—and needed secure remote access to Azure.

“Without this partnership, we could not have been able to do what we need to do,” said Rajiv Thomas, Senior System Engineer for Gas South. “The entire company is working from home and they feel secure.”

Check Point’s relationship with Gas South illustrates the company’s commitment to customers, and is part of the reason Check Point won the Microsoft US Partner Award for Energy. “This award highlights not only our thought leadership in the industry,” said Erez Yarkoni, Vice President of Cloud and Telco at Check Point, “but it also highlights our commitment to innovation and customer success.”

Other energy customers such as Eurowind have found success with Check Point’s cloud security offerings with Microsoft Azure—and our customer success stories include customers from healthcare, finance, manufacturing, public sector, technology, and many other industries.

“Winning the Microsoft US Partner Award for Energy validates how Check Point helps customers move more workloads to Microsoft Azure faster—by giving them the confidence that their data is secure at cloud speed and at cloud scale,” said Yarkoni.

Check Point has won numerous awards from Microsoft over the last few years, including the Most Transformative Integration Partner at the Microsoft Intelligent Security Association’s awards in May 2021—and this is the second year in a row Check Point has won a Microsoft US Partner Award. Check Point and Microsoft have had a strong partnership for over two decades. As the #1 Microsoft ISV partner and the #1 Microsoft security partner in Microsoft’s fiscal year 2020, Check Point has demonstrated that these Microsoft awards mirror the success of customers like Gas South when migrating to Microsoft Azure.

“We consider Check Point and Microsoft not just as vendors, but as partners in success with Gas South today,” said Thomas. “We are absolutely happy with how this partnership turned out.”

No matter what industry your organization is in, Check Point can help you secure your critical applications, data, and workloads on Microsoft Azure.
