Infrastructure Upgrade to Support Microsoft Modern Authentication
To upgrade from Microsoft Basic Authentication to Modern Authentication, a small infrastructure work will be done for customers protecting Microsoft 365. No impact on email delivery, security or dashboard.
Microsoft is in the process of deprecating Basic Authentication.
Basic authentication, and its new version, Modern Authentication, are used for three main cases:
- Applying inline policies to new users, in case the policy is defined to protect a specific set of users (as opposed to All Organization)
- Applying DLP and Microsoft Encryption policies
- Disconnecting from Microsoft 365
Customers who connected Harmony Email & Collaboration to Microsoft 365 prior to January 1st 2022 will undergo a small infrastructure upgrade. During this upgrade mail delivery, mail security and access to the dashboard will not be impacted.
During the upgrade, you might get a Microsoft email notification and an audit log for user Check Point Cloud Security Platform – Emails V2 regarding Microsoft Privileged Identity Management (PIM).
This is an expected behavior as part of the Check Point integration and can be disregarded.
