Employee Spotlight: Getting to Know Julia Rabinovich

Julia, can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m a system architect in the Quantum Network Security Products department. My main responsibilities focus on building system solutions and related architectural work, but I’m also very passionate about promoting a culture of modern software development and knowledge sharing. Another area I’m deeply invested in is cryptography. Recently, I also joined the patent technical team, which has opened up exciting new opportunities for me.
What led to your decision to join Check Point?
Working at the same company for many years definitely has its benefits — it helps build a career, develop strong connections and reputation, and gain deep insights into systems and products. But over time, it can start to feel a bit repetitive.
I was looking for new challenges and felt ready to step into a different area where I could learn, grow, and contribute in new ways. I chose Check Point because it is a leader in cyber security, providing critical protection for organizations and individuals against evolving digital threats. The company offers a chance to work on cutting-edge solutions, innovate, and stay ahead of the curve in a fast-changing industry landscape. Defending privacy, data, and digital trust gives me a sense of purpose, knowing my work directly contributes to a safer digital world.
What is your current role and what does a typical day look like for you?
I usually work on a few projects in parallel, which means I’m constantly communicating with different teams and people, including consulting on the topics related to my expertise. I also spend a good amount of time doing research on various topics.
Reading and writing are a big part of my day — I believe that well-organized, up to date and easily accessible documentation helps to create better products as people do not waste time on finding the information they need.
How do you stay on top of the latest emerging trends in cyber, like quantum-safe encryption?
I’m naturally curious and passionate about my field, so I stay informed by reading about new developments related to my expertise.
I first learned about the potential of quantum computers to break classical cryptographic algorithms through online publications a few years ago. Since then, I’ve been actively following this field via the media, forums and official publications — from tracking the development of new standards and assessing their impact on our system products, to regularly sharing updates with colleagues. We even have a dedicated PQC (post-quantum cryptography) forum to support this ongoing exchange.
What are you most proud of personally and professionally?
Personally — I’m a proud mom of two incredible kids who’ve already built careers of their own.
Professionally, it’s a bit more complex. In our fast-changing field, what matters today might be obsolete tomorrow. I’m a natural innovator and always trying to push ideas forward — sometimes successfully, sometimes not. But the sense that I’m helping to move things forward and shape how our current and future products evolve is something I’m truly proud of.
What can we find you doing outside of work?
I love staying active — anything from running to yoga, skiing, hiking, and traveling. I also enjoy classical music and try to make time for it whenever I can.
