Getting to Know: Kacey Darling
In her 12+ years in cybersecurity, Kacey Darling has held a variety of roles across sales and marketing across Check Point, including Channel Development Manager, Account Manager and Field Marketing Manager for the North Central region of the United States. She holds Bachelor’s Degrees in Business Administration and Marketing from the University of Olivet.
So Kacey, how did you get into cybersecurity?
A friend of the family worked at Check Point and recommended the new Sales Associate Program to me. After researching Check Point, I realized how integrated cybersecurity is into most aspects of our daily lives.
What can you tell us about Check Point’s Global Sales Associates Program?
I would highly recommend the Global Sales Associates Program! It’s a program that you cannot get anywhere else. It creates so many opportunities that you can use throughout your career moving forward. The amount of education that you receive during this program is like an accelerated knowledge transfer. It would take much longer to learn if you entered the industry outside of the program.
Why did you decide to stay at Check Point after completing the Global Sales Associates Program?
I respect the amount of investment that Check Point has invested in me and I want to provide Check Point the same investment back. I’ve also been able to explore career opportunities right here at Check Point that have allowed me to stay here while growing my career. I was in Sales for seven years and wanted to make a change. For the past five years, I’ve been in marketing.
What does a typical day as a Field Marketing Manager entail?
A typical day as a Field Marketing Manager consists of working to execute campaigns that provide pipeline to my sales teams. This ranges from planning events, driving social media posts and analyzing results to understand what’s working well and what needs tweaking. I usually also spend time connecting with our strategic partners to ensure our marketing campaigns are aligned and are delivering leads. My main focus is in working very closely with my sales teams to make sure that we, as a team, are putting Check Point’s best foot forward into the industry to showcase our brand.
What’s something about cybersecurity that you wish everyone knew?
How integrated cybersecurity is into our daily lives and how important it is to keep everyone safe! Strong cybersecurity solutions ensure doctors aren’t disrupted from treating sick people in hospitals. It protects our electrical grids, ensuring that the lights stay on in our homes. And it ensures our personal data is kept safe and private.
