Check Point Email Security now introduces a significantly enhanced Email Archiving experience with faster search, richer management capabilities, and improved administrator productivity.

Email archiving plays a critical role in compliance, eDiscovery, and long-term data retention. This release introduces a major upgrade to the archiving infrastructure, making it easier and faster to find, review, manage, and retain archived emails while giving administrators greater control over their archives.

The new archiving experience delivers several powerful enhancements designed to simplify everyday archive management:

  • Direct Preview and Download – Administrators can now preview archived emails directly from the archive interface and download them without additional steps.
  • Enhanced Search – Search archived emails using keywords found not only in email metadata, but also within email bodies and attachments.
  • Near-Instant Search Results – Search results are returned within seconds, helping administrators quickly locate the information they need.
  • Legal Holds – Preserve specific emails beyond their standard retention period to support legal, regulatory, or compliance requirements.

Together, these enhancements provide a faster, more efficient archiving experience while giving organizations greater flexibility to meet operational, compliance, and legal requirements.

Availability and Migration

The enhanced archiving capabilities are available automatically for customers who started using Email Archiving on or after July 15, 2026.

Customers who began archiving before July 15, 2026 can contact Check Point Support to enable the new archiving infrastructure. Once enabled, all newly archived emails will benefit from the enhanced capabilities.

To apply these capabilities to previously archived emails, organizations must export their existing archive and import it into the new archiving infrastructure. Please note that re-importing existing archives may incur additional charges depending on the archive size. See the Archive Import Charges section below for more information.

Archive Import Charges

Importing archived emails continues to be free for a cumulative total of up to 1 TB of imported data. Organizations importing larger archives are now required to purchase an Archive Import SKU. Customers interested in importing more than 1 TB should contact their Check Point representative or partner for pricing information.
