We’re excited to announce that Gmail customers can now manage graymail more effectively with new workflow options.

Graymail – such as newsletters, marketing emails, and other non-malicious but unwanted content – continues to challenge both administrators and end-users. To support flexible handling of these messages, we’ve extended our graymail management capabilities to Gmail environments with three configurable workflows.

New Workflow Options for Gmail Customers

With this release, administrators protecting Gmail environments can now choose between the following graymail handling options:

  • Do nothing – Deliver the message to the user’s inbox with no changes.
  • Treat as Spam – Apply the same policy workflow defined for Spam messages in the organization’s configuration. This provides consistent enforcement without duplicating policy logic.
  • Add subject prefix – Insert a customizable prefix (e.g., “[Promotional]”) into the subject line, helping users easily identify and optionally filter graymail.

The subject prefixing workflow is particularly useful for organizations that want to increase transparency without interrupting email flow. It enables users to visually distinguish promotional or low-priority messages while preserving access to potentially useful content.
