Avanan now introduces three new Security Awareness Training (SAT) modules: Deepfake & Impersonation Threats, Social Media Phishing Awareness, and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Awareness.
As cyber criminals continue to exploit new technologies, platforms, and regulatory gaps, these modules help organizations proactively educate their users and reduce human-driven risk across emerging attack surfaces.
The “Deepfake & Impersonation Threats” module focuses on the growing use of synthetic media in cybercrime. It teaches users how deepfake videos, voice cloning, and image manipulation can be used to impersonate executives, hijack identities, or manipulate trust. Learners will explore real-world examples and receive practical tips on spotting signs of impersonation and responding safely.
The “Social Media Phishing Awareness” module educates users on phishing tactics delivered via platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter). It highlights how attackers exploit social media to impersonate colleagues, lure users into clicking malicious links, or extract sensitive information. Users are taught how to identify suspicious activity, adjust privacy settings, and protect their digital presence.
The “CCPA Awareness” module introduces employees to key concepts in the California Consumer Privacy Act. It explains what personal data is protected, outlines consumer rights under the law, and describes the responsibilities organizations have when handling that data. Through relatable examples, users gain awareness of how to support compliance and reduce privacy-related risks in their day-to-day roles.
Customers with a valid SAT license can enable these modules immediately via the Training library in the Avanan portal.
