Employee Spotlight: Getting to Know Anthony Gallo

Anthony, can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I am originally from New Jersey, but currently live in South Carolina. I am an attorney on the Check Point team covering the Americas, working closely with many different business units here at Check Point. I am very passionate about the law and technology, specifically the intersection between the two, and how it is ever-changing in this fast-paced environment.
What led to your decision to join Check Point?
The opportunity to join a company that is a leader in the cyber security industry was an opportunity that I could not pass up. The ability to take on a myriad of different legal tasks, while being able to grow both professionally and personally was the deciding factor in joining Check Point. Check Point allows me to be myself and has helped me grow in ways that I could not ever have imagined for myself.
What is your current role and what does a typical day look like for you?
I am a legal counsel for the Americas on a team of three attorneys covering all the Americas. I think one of the best things about being a part of the legal team here at Check Point is that no two days are ever alike. I am constantly working closely with sales and the purchasing team to review agreements and assess any risk within these agreements to ensure that not only Check Point’s business needs are met, but also to minimize risk exposure to Check Point. When I am not working on commercial matters for Check Point, I am ensuring compliance on the backend regarding any corporate and export matters.
What are you most proud of personally and professionally?
Personally, I am most proud of being a licensed attorney. Being able to grind through law school and then studying for the Bar Exam is very taxing. To be able to achieve my lifelong dream of becoming an attorney was a surreal experience on the day that I was sworn in. It was a true full-circle moment to see where I came from, and all the hard-work put in to trying to achieve this dream, and then to finally take a deep breath and soak in the moment. It was truly a special experience and one that I will never forget.
Professionally, I am most proud of not only being a legal mind for Check Point, but also a business advisor as well. When you work in-house as an attorney, you have to be able to put your business hat on and guide the business on any matters. The ability to wear multiple hats here at Check Point is something to be very proud of.
What can we find you doing outside of work?
When I am not working, you can almost always find me on the golf course. Golf has always been a big passion of mine, and the course is my home away from home. Being on the golf course allows me to decompress and enjoy the time spent with my friends and family out there. What I love most about golfing, is that your game is never perfect; you can always practice more and get better. When I am not golfing, I am spending time with my beautiful fur-babies. I have a yellow lab, Dante, and an orange tabby, Sophie. Spending time with my fur-babies always puts a smile on my face!
