Check Point Email Security now introduces a new DLP workflow that enables manager-approved release and automatic encryption of sensitive emails.

With this workflow, emails that match DLP policies are automatically quarantined, giving end users the option to request approval for release. Instead of routing these requests to IT, they are sent directly to the user’s manager, who can review the context and decide whether the communication is appropriate. Once approved, the email is securely encrypted by Check Point Email Security and delivered to the intended external recipient, ensuring sensitive data remains protected even after release.

This approach provides a balanced combination of security and operational efficiency. It increases managerial visibility into sensitive data sharing, reduces dependency on IT teams for routine approvals, and ensures that approved communications are always protected by encryption. By embedding encryption directly into the approval workflow, organizations can confidently enable business communication without compromising on data security.

To use this capability, select the “Email is blocked and user can request to resend as encrypted by Email Encryption (manager must approve)” workflow within the DLP policy settings.

This feature is gradually being deployed and will be available in customer portals over the next 7 days.
