Check Point CheckMates is our online community for all Check Point customers, partners, and security experts. The community platform provides a user-friendly space for members to benefit from all of the activities and insightful content that CheckMates has to offer. In a short time frame, 100,000 security professionals from over 150 countries gathered on CheckMates where together, we learn, share, and inspire each other every day.
This year, the community invited all its members to share their favorite Check Point and CheckMates moments of 2019, and were given the chance to have their say and influence the future of Check Point.
This year, our community selected Cyber Attack View, SmartConsole extensions and Threat Extraction for Web as the most innovative Check Point Features of the Year. The Cyber Attack View dashboard aims to expose top threats in the network using the Smart-View tool. Based on Smart-View capabilities and advance Threat Prevention queries, with the simple click of a button, one can focus on the important threats whilst dramatically reducing the amount of time spent on conducting raw investigation and analysis of logs. The SmartConsole Extension was designed to further extend the consolidation vision, and invite external interfaces to be integrated inside our Smart Console. R80.30 Gen V Threat Prevention protects users from malicious web downloads in real-time. Threat Extraction for web, a feature innovated by Check Point which no other vendor can provide, removes exploitable content, reconstructs files to eliminate potential threats and promptly delivers the clean content to the user.
Members are also shaping the future of Check Point. On the community, we asked CheckMates users to share their innovative Idea of the Year, whether a product, feature or service. Policy-Based Routing for Office 365 was chosen as the most notable, innovative Idea of the Year and is planned to be part of the Check Point roadmap for 2020.
Additionally, members were given the opportunity to vote for The Best of CheckMates, choosing their favorite community moments, content and people over the past year. Users nominated fellow CheckMaters for various awards based on their contribution and commitment to the community. The Post of the Year Award was given to Heiko Ankenbrand for his article, ‘R80.x Architecture and Performance Tuning – Link Collection’. Heiko Ankenbrand was also honored as CheckMates Member of the Year together with Timothy Hall and Vladimir Yakovlev. Danny Jung’s ‘One-liner for Address Spoofing Troubleshooting’ was selected as the Code Hub Contribution of the Year. Guenther Albrecht and Maarten Sjouw were chosen as the two CheckMates Contributors of the Year. Wolfgang Becher was awarded the Rising Star of the Year. The winner of the How-To Videos competition is Adam Forester, with an eye-opening presentation on ‘Updates Objects & NAT’.
We wish all of the winners a huge congratulations and we look forward to seeing you in Tel Aviv for the CheckMates Experience, 2019. Immense gratitude is owed to the entire community for the value each member brings to CheckMates every day and to the voices that influence Check Point solutions.
