On July 31, 2023, the White House announced a new National Cyber Workforce and Education Strategy (NCWES) to keep all Americans secure and boost the next generation of innovation in the United States. The NCWES aims to expand the national cyber workforce, increase its diversity and expand access to cyber education and training via four pillars:
• Equip Every American with Foundational Cyber Skills by making foundational cyber skill learning opportunities to all and promoting the pursuit of foundational cyber skills
• Transform Cyber Education by making cyber education and training more affordable and accessible
• Expand and Enhance the National Cyber Workforce by growing the cyber workforce, promoting skills-based hiring
• Strengthen the Federal Cyber Workforce by attracting and hiring qualified and diverse federal cyber workforce and improving career pathways
