Alon, can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Well, I hold a Bachelor of Science and an MBA in Business Management from the University of Ben Gurion. Currently, I’m the Head of Data Engineering in the IT department, where we manage data and business insights both on the corporate and personal levels.

What led to your decision to join Check Point?

I joined Check Point nearly 26 years ago when it was the talk of the town in Israel’s cyber security scene. Check Point was a visionary, pioneering ERP infrastructure and being one of the first in Israel to implement SAP solutions. As a junior with a budding interest in ERP implementations, I saw Check Point as the perfect launchpad for my career. Plus, who wouldn’t want to be part of a startup that’s now a cyber security giant?

What is your current role and what does a typical day look like for you?

I lead the data engineering group in our IT department. Our mission? To make Check Point’s business KPIs as accessible and digestible as a well-cooked meal. My days are a mix of meetings with the executive team, business analysts, operations leaders, and of course, my fantastic group and colleagues. No two days are the same, but they all involve a lot of data and a bit of magic.

What are you most proud of personally and professionally?

Personally, I’m proud of my volunteering efforts, from mentoring and introducing the high-tech industry to diverse populations through Tech Career, to helping juniors take their first steps in the industry with MesayaaTech. I’m also honored to be part of the Check Point donation committee, supporting numerous important nonprofits and initiatives.

Professionally, leading the data charge and witnessing a tenfold growth in our main KPIs is incredibly rewarding. I’m proud to have been part of Check Point’s journey from a startup to a global cyber security leader.

What can we find you doing outside of work?

Every Friday morning, you’ll find me either walking or kayaking at the Tel Aviv beach with my wife. I’m also a basketball enthusiast, both playing and watching. Volunteering remains a big part of my life, and traveling with my family is a cherished activity— we’ve explored over 40 countries and counting!
