Empowering Women Through Mentoring: Meet Laura Hidalgo
Check Point’s EMEA Women’s Mentorship Program is an experience designed to support women in their journey as leaders. Through one-to-one coaching, we aim to help women build confidence, develop career skills, and foster an environment of support and shared success at Check Point.
In this series, we interview mentors and mentees about their experiences and reflections. Meet Laura Martinez Hidalgo, Public Relations Manager for EMEA and LATAM, based in Madrid, Spain, and learn more about her role as a mentor in our EMEA Women’s Mentorship Program.
Laura, what kind of mentorship do you wish you had early on in your career?
In my early career, I wish I had a mentor who gave me guidance on navigating challenges. Having a mentor who offers guidance, insight, and support during critical stages of career development is invaluable.
What does mentorship mean to you? Why does mentorship matter?
To me, mentorship means guidance, support, and empowerment, all of which are essential for fostering confidence and building a supportive community within the program. Mentorship matters because it helps women develop and thrive while creating a strong sense of community and support.
Check Point’s women’s mentorship program motivated me to become a mentor because I want to support other women in our workplace. I look forward to sharing my experiences and contributing to a culture of growth and empowerment.
What insights do you anticipate gaining through mentoring a colleague in our workplace?
I hope to gain a deeper understanding of different perspectives and experiences within our workplace. Mentoring allows me to contribute to someone’s growth while also learning from their unique insights and challenges. It’s a mutually beneficial exchange that fosters collaboration and personal development.
What piece of advice would you give to someone considering participating in this program?
If you’re considering joining this program, my advice would be to embrace the opportunity to learn from others’ experiences and ask for advice when needed. It’s a chance to recognize and take pride in your unique qualities, allowing you to showcase your best self. This program gives you the opportunity to grow, both professionally and personally, and recognize all of the things you have to offer.
