Tighter Enforcement of SPF Settings before Applying Custom From Addresses for Notifications
Configured custom From addresses for end user and admin notifications will only be applied after required changes to the SPF record are verified
Harmony Email & Collaboration supports customizing the From and Reply-To addresses of notifications when end user requests are approved or rejected.
With the recent enhanced focus around sender authentication, Harmony Email & Collaboration can no longer send emails on behalf of customer domains without the customer approving it via their DNS SPF record.
Organizations will need to add this statement to the SPF record: Include:spfa.cpmails.com before customizing the From and Reply-to addresses to their domain.
Therefore, the feature was turned off for a short while and is now re-introduced with the following changes:
- The default From and Reply-to addresses of these notifications is now do-not-reply@portal.checkpoint.com.
- Administrators can define a custom From and Reply-to addresses only from one of their domains.
- When defining a custom address, it will not take effect until Check Point identifies the required include statement in the custom domain’s DNS.
Note – the feature, along with these changes, is being deployed gradually. You should see it in your portal during the next 2 weeks.
